In a world that often feels fast-paced and challenging, respect has never been more important. It is the heart of all positive relationships and the foundation of a caring community.

At Loreto School Queenswood, we believe that respect—for ourselves, others, and our environment—builds the kind of school culture where every person feels valued and connected. In 2025, we are committed to making respect a daily part of school life, helping our learners grow into compassionate, responsible young people.
Our Loreto family, Educators, parents and learners will make a pledge to make respect visible through their actions, words, and attitudes. All will strive to be gentle listeners, encourage open dialogue, and celebrate each individual’s unique qualities, while also teaching students to see and appreciate the uniqueness in others. By leading with kindness and understanding, our educators and parents will strive to set a powerful example, showing students that respect strengthens us as individuals and as a community.
During our daily examen, learners will take a quiet moment to reflect on how they treat themselves and others. This practice will give them the space to think about their actions, encouraging empathy and awareness. Over time, learners will come to see respect as a natural part of who they are, deepening their sense of self-worth and connection to others.
In language subjects, we will weave respect into every lesson, teaching learners to communicate with care and sensitivity. Through stories and role models, they’ll learn how respect can uplift others and create meaningful bonds. They’ll see that even small acts of kindness and understanding can make a big difference in our school family.

In Religious Education and Life Orientation, respect will take centre stage as we explore different beliefs, cultures, and perspectives. By discussing inclusivity, equality, and empathy, learners will gain an appreciation for everyone’s unique journey. Service projects will offer a chance for them to put this learning into action, allowing them to support others with humility and respect.
In math and science, our focus will turn to respect for the natural world. Through projects on sustainability and environmental care, students will learn the importance of cherishing our planet and its resources. By understanding the impact of their actions on the environment, they will develop a deep respect for all living things and the world we share.
Respect, at its core, is about valuing others, acting with empathy, and making choices that benefit the greater good.
As we journey towards 2025, we at Loreto School Queenswood are excited to nurture this value within our community. We hope that each of these daily practices helps our students become young people who bring kindness, understanding, and a true spirit of respect to the world around them. Through this commitment, we believe we can make a lasting impact on our learners lives and strengthen the bonds that make our Loreto family so special.
