A home away from home with Auntie
Rose and Team
The Loreto School Queenswood (LSQ) aftercare centre is a home away from home for many of our beloved students. The children are cared for in a warm and nurturing environment that provides them with support and encouragement.
The children may opt to eat at the aftercare, whereby they will be provided with a delicious, hot meal or they may bring their own snacks and food.
The aftercare centre is open from Monday to Friday (12:00 to 17:00). This grants parents peace of mind, knowing that their children are being cared for in a safe environment, with adult supervision.
No two days are the same at the LSQ aftercare centre. Each day is a bright and wonderful experience that allows little minds to blossom under the guidance of the aftercare team.
The LSQ aftercare centre is run by the loved Rose Longwe and her assistants.
A group of ladies who treat each and every child with love, care, patience and understanding.
Activities that can be done, are daily homework support (Monday to Thursday),
Mathletics and Reading Eggs.
Homework support provides learners with reading opportunities, whereby they can read aloud and practice expanding their vocabulary. Once homework support activities are completed, the children go out to play on the jungle-gym, ride bicycles or play dress-up in the playroom, which has an assortment of puzzles and wooden blocks. On rainy days, the children can watch a movie in the TV room.
The children have grown fond of the aftercare centre. Many of our children wish they could stay longer when it’s time for them to go home.
The LSQ aftercare centre is something that our learners look forward to attending and is a happy place for them.
Friday is games day! Instead of homework support, the students are allowed to play
games under supervision, such as “follow the leader”, “Hot potato” and “musical chairs”.
We believe in giving young minds the opportunities to grow and prosper, in a holistic and caring environment, that allows play and learning.
Let us take your little one on a big adventure.
